The Christian Education Ministries of Second Baptist Church provide opportunities for all ages to grow in God’s Word through Bible Study, Sunday School, and other course studies.The mission of our Christian Education ministries is to provide a framework for effective teaching of biblical truths and principles that will transform lives and grow disciples for Christian service in the church and the community.

Youth
outreach
At Second Baptist Church, we strive to strengthen the spiritual growth, character, discipleship, and leadership development of all youth. We respond to the social and spiritual needs of the youth within our church and community by providing relative programs, activities, and events that will allow them to build a strong foundation of faith that will enable them to express and share their faith through their own words, actions and deeds. We also encourage them to use their individual talents in programs and ministries that interest them in order to nurture their growth as Disciples of Christ.
CONGREGATIONAL
STEWARDHSIP
Second Baptist Church is organized to serve its congregation through its Board of Trustees and Deacons Ministry. The Trustee Ministry manages the material possessions and oversee the financial matters of the church according to God’s design for handling the resources He provides for His church; to enable the execution of God's mission through stewardship and individual Spiritual gifts and to provide direction, leadership, facilities, processes, capability and capacity to help further God's kingdom based on the scriptures. The purpose of our Deacons Ministry is to lead in worship, Bible Study and evangelism; and assisting the ministry of the pulpit by serving in congregational care and to administer benevolence, discipline and reconciliation to our church members as well as the community. Other Congregational Care Ministries include our Mothers Ministry, Ushers Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Health Ministry, and our Music/Arts Ministries.
OUTREACH
MINISTRIES
Our Outreach Ministries at Second Baptist Church Kalamazoo lead the way in helping our congregation to realize God’s call to help others in our community and beyond. Second Baptist Church serves through ministering to the poor, the powerless, and the persecuted in our community through various programs such as providing Christmas gifts for low-income children, gathering socks, gloves, and other toiletries for the homeless, and organizing food donations through our Bread Donation Ministry. These ministries and other programs initiated by Second Baptist Church help fulfill Jesus’ call for compassion and justice for all of God’s children.
