Our Pastor
Rev. Chevez D. Marshall
Rev. Chevez D. Marshall is a native of Flint, Michigan. He confessed Christ at a young age and received his tutelage as a servant and faithful member of Ruth Street Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Namon Marshall, Jr. in Flint.
Pastor Marshall graduated from Flint Northern High School. He has attended Delta College, University Center, MI., The Sunday School Publishing, Nashville, TN and the Biblical Theology program at
Slidell Seminary, Slidell, LA.
Rev. Marshall has dutifully served the body of Christ in all ministry capacities – with special emphasis on Christian Education, the Music Department and Youth Ministries. He became an ordained deacon in 2013 and answered the call to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ as a licensed and ordained minister in 2015. He recently served as the third vice president of the Saginaw Valley District Congress of Christian Education.
​Rev. Marshall served as pastor of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Saginaw, Michigan from August 2016 until May 2023, when he received the call to become the Senior Pastor at Second Baptist Church, Kalamazoo. Rev. Marshall’s work experience consists of: Filmore freight operations supervisor of XPO Logistics, Saginaw; Michigan job coach with SVRC Industries, Saginaw; Michigan Chemical Bank, Saginaw and Hemlock semiconductor supervisor in Hemlock, Michigan.
Rev. Marshall is married, devoted husband to Krystal J. Marshall, and they have three beautiful children. They are excited about becoming active members of the Kalamazoo community.
Rev. Marshall stands firm that his passionate witness for Jesus, his love for serving God and the body of Christ, his ministry, vocation, and background experiences as a servant leader and winning souls for the kingdom are essential as a pastor.
